Current Ben body check-in as of 38 minutes ago.
Bullet time!
There’s a five-inch area from the top of my trousers to the middle of my torso that I’ve been unhappy with since 5th grade. Still struggling with it.
Also I would like to be fewer inches across, across the board.
I’m a little smushy around my chest area, too.
A little all-around smushy. Meemaw called me “a little chubby” when we were riding home from the airport. Definitely true.
Happy with my legs.
Happy with my face and new hat.
Less chest hair probably wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Pa and I were talking in the car today and he made the point that writing is always easier with a comfort.
“It’s hard to write actively and lose weight at the same time,” he said. “I remember when I was writing a lot, I always needed a comfort. Smoking was my thing. I always smoked when I wrote.”
Seems true to me. I know that since I’ve started writing the book, I’ve wanted something passive to do while I’m lodged down knocking out chapters. And you know how it is with things like this; what better thing to do with our hands than eat?
It’s tough. But here I am. It’s December 20th. I’m still around and I’m still motivated to keep working.
And it’s been a good holidays.
How’s the season going for you?
